African star Samuel Eto'o scored his 18th goal of the season as FC Barcelona got their 11th consecutive in the Spanish League. This time it was 2-1 over Espanyol.

Deco scored the first goal for the current champion win. Then he was taken to the hospital for tests after a 58th-minute collision of heads with his teammate Thiago Motta that caused him to briefly lose consciousness. The Portugal international was just suffering from a slight concussion.

In Saturday's other match, Deportivo la Coruña beated Athletic Bilbao, 2-1, and got the third place.

Ronaldinho, who participated in the second goal, had a great performance. Now, Barcelona has 43 points, while Osasuna, which was to face Racing Santander on Sunday, has 38. Deportivo is tied for third with Valencia, which was to visit Atletico Madrid on Sunday. Both squads have 32 points and identical goal differences. On Sunday, Villarreal was at home to Real Madrid.

Barcelona's wishes to continuing its unbeaten streak - it has not lost in the league since Sept. 18, when Atletico Madrid beated them.

Kameni, who had saved a Ronaldinho effort seconds earlier, appeared to misjudge Deco's low shot from the border of the area, diving to his right only to see the ball skip over his legs and into the goal a minute before halftime.

Barcelona, which has lost only once in its 18 league games this season, doubled its lead in the 47th minute when Eto'o took full advantage of Ronaldinho's pass by steering the ball past Kameni.

In the 60th minute, the rivals halved the lead when Raul Tamudo controlled Fredson's crossfield ball and lifted it over advancing goalkeeper Victor Valdés.
